Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaja’s Arts and Commerce college Taharabad Tal-Baglan Dist-Nashik was established in 1997 and permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. College has applied for recognition of status under 2f and 12b and the proposal is under process. College receives grant-in-aid only for faculty of arts. The college is located on State Highway No.7.(Vinchur- prakasha) nearly 120 kms away from Nashik. And it is(approximately) 2.5 KM away from Taharabad village of Baglan Taluka. Though the college is situated at the extreme point of purview of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, it has always been in correspondence with the University and the relevant Government offices.
The college offers full-fledged degree in Arts and Commerce i.e. B.A. and B.COM. For Arts faculty, the college has 7 subjects at special level i.e. Marathi, Hindi, English, Politics, History, Economics, Geography. In addition to this, our college is also running the Commerce faculty. College also provide the facility for external students who desire to continue their higher education, through the study centre of Y.C.M.O.U.(Yashvantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University). The college has spacious playground along with running track. Most of the citizens and alumni using this ground for morning walk and playing cricket, before and after office hours. To enhance the overall quality, we have established I.Q.A.C. i.e. Internal quality assurance cell. To develop the overall personality of the students, we do implement various schemes and programmes i.e. Earn and Learn, Special Guidance Scheme, and Student Welfare etc, sponsored by Savitrivbai Phule Pune University. Additionally, as a part of woman empowerment, we do conduct women personality development programme, pre-marriage counselling, Nirbhya kanya abhiyan etc.
